SKILLMAN LAWYER’S QUOTE
“I have some great news. I PASSED! I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you for all of your help, advice, tips, corrections, support, faith, patience, (the list goes on), this summer. It was challenging and many times I wanted to quit, but I’m so glad I stuck with it. …Thanks again for everything.”

The audios of The Summer 2013 Supplemental Bar Preparation Course™ are enlightening. The bar candidates who participated in the six-week course were all re-taking a bar examination. Students in the course were sitting for the bar exam in Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, and New York. (See the Missouri bar candidate’s quote below.)
Depending upon the year, we have bar candidates who are preparing for bar examinations in many jurisdictions, including Arizona, California, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. The Oregon State Bar and the Massachusetts Bar Association sponsored Professor Skillman’s courses for many years.
It is a pleasure to be able to offer bar candidates the opportunity to listen to the audios of the course held the summer of 2013. The course met from June 7 through July 12, 2013. Although the classes were scheduled to meet for two hours, oftentimes the classes went met for longer periods. Ordinarily, a fifteen-minute break was taken after the first hour of class.
Classes met via teleconference. Students who could not attend classes listened to the audios after class. Most students called in from their cellphones. In addition to class meetings, students met privately with Professor Skillman weekly for Individual Instruction.
During each class, essay answers submitted by bar candidates were critiqued line-by-line. After class, Professor Skillman’s handwritten critiques of the essays were returned via email and ordinary mail. Bar candidates submitted their essays and MPT answers for discussion at least two days before class.
The month before the course began, each bar candidate 1) met with Professor Skillman for Individual Instruction after enrolling in The Basic Bar Preparation Course™ and 2) worked independently to prepare for the bar exam. The goal was to make sure that each student understood how to meet those standards applied to their work by the time The Supplemental Bar Preparation Course™ met for the first class.
Before listening to the summer bar course audios, you should register for and watch The Basic Bar Preparation Course™. All bar candidates take The Basic Bar Preparation Course™. Once a student watches the course, the faculty and students share a common framework and lexicon through which to create success. The course which is available online 24/7 was sponsored by Vanderbilt University School of Law.
To take advantage of listening to the audios of The Summer 2013 Supplemental Bar Preparation Course™, download the audio file of each class and download and print the class packet(s) for each particular class. Then, listen to the audio with the class packet(s) for the class. Later, you should download and print the critiques of each class packet and review the handwritten comments.
The difference between The Skillman Method™ courses and others is that Professor Skillman clearly announces the standards applied to your work and teaches you exactly how to meet the standards. The feedback given is detailed and specific. The Skillman Method™ takes the mystery out of the bar exam!
